Madurai Charitable Trust

Madurai Charitable Trust is a service organization based in Madurai, India. Formed in 2002, MCT is dedicated to assisting the poor and needy people in Southern India. The Madurai Charitable Trust’s mission enacts human values by alleviating the suffering of the severely disadvantaged through free healthcare services and educational programs.

Madurai Charitable Trust receives no grants from the Indian Government and is solely dependent on donations from private individuals. It assists thousands of rural villagers through Healthcare, Aged Care, Vocational Training, as well as School/Student Sponsorship.

Their services include aged care to support disadvantaged seniors to allow them to spend the latter part of their lives with dignity. They also have medical and dental outreach programs which bring much needed medical support to rural villages. They even have vocational training programs for the disadvantaged. Their school programs support over 1300 poor rural schoolchildren, in over 20 villages, throughout Madurai District.

MCT also runs a very smart fundraising program called Shop For A Cause that utilizes their MCT Sewing Program that teaches women how to tailor, allowing them to support their families and communities.

About the MCT Site:

The Madurai Charitable Trust USA website is a wonderful example of education and fundraising a worthy project. The fundraising efforts are powered by PayPal that is able to process donations directly from the website, and to allow the purchase of stylish sleepware, shirts, and shorts for women in multiple sizes and colors. PayPal makes it easy to generate sales without too much work or maintenance, all affordable. Webworks added editing and Photoshop skills to make the site attractive and easy to navigate.
